Zamboanga says feud with Lee ‘nothing personal,’ eyes ‘bigger prize’

MANILA, Philippines — Undefeated Denice Zamboanga wants to set it straight.

In a feud that has largely enveloped the division, Zamboanga cleared she’s not antagonizing Angela Lee when she said that the reigning atomweight queen should vacate her crown.

“I’m not considering Angela as my enemy on a personal level, this is nothing personal,” said Zamboanga in Filipino Sunday via Zoom. “I was talking on behalf of the other athletes on the division.”

“But now there’s an even bigger prize,” she added.

Zamboanga, who was previously the No. 1 contender to Lee’s title, will be competing in the ONE World Atomweight Grand Prix with her sights set on becoming the holder of the two belts in her weight class.

Lee’s pregnancy paved way for ONE chairman Chatri Sityodtong to announce the Grand Prix with Lee unable to defend her belt for the foreseeable future. The winner of the Grand Prix will challenge Lee the moment she is fit to fight again.

As early as now, Zamboanga is already predicting that it will still be her who’s going to face Lee in the end.

“When they announced that the prize would be the Grand Prix championship belt, I immediately respected their decision and it’s fine with me if it’s not the interim title,” said Zamboanga. “The winner in the Grand Prix will have the opportunity to hold two titles.”

“I plan to capture the Grand Prix and the world titles in 2021.”

Lewis Hamilton matches Schumacher’s F1 win record with Eifel victory

NURBURG, Germany — Even Lewis Hamilton once saw Michael Schumacher’s record of 91 wins as unbeatable. Now he’s matched it.

Schumacher’s son Mick presented Hamilton with one of his father’s old helmets after the British driver took a record-equaling 91st win at the Eifel Grand Prix.

“Seeing his dominance, I don’t think anyone, and especially me, didn’t imagine that I’d be anywhere near Michael in terms of records so it’s an incredible honour and it’s going to take some time to get used to,” Hamilton said, adding that he used to choose Schumacher as his character in a video game.

“That number’s so big and when it’s so far away it’s hard for people to perhaps fully understand how hard it was to for him to go those 91 wins, to deliver weekend in and weekend out, year on year on year and stay so physically in shape and so precise. So I understand that now more than ever,” Hamilton said.

“And I can only tell you that it doesn’t get easier from your first win to ninety first. I’m telling you, it’s been a long, hard run.”

Schumacher has required constant care since he sustained severe head injuries in an accident while skiing in 2013.

Hamilton took a big step closer to matching Schumacher’s record of seven titles too after his teammate Valtteri Bottas failed to finish with an engine problem. Hamilton now leads the championship by 69 points with six races to go.

Hamilton took the win by 4.5 seconds from Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, with third for Daniel Ricciardo

Celebrity BFFs Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chiu and Bela Padilla got candid about how they felt toward male stars during a trip together.

The three, known as AngBeKi, recently celebrated their friendship anniversary by vacationing in Subic, Zambales.

Chiu revealed that they played a game of “jojowain o totropahin” (boyfriend or friend) by going through a roster of international and local male celebrities, as seen in her vlog yesterday, Oct. 10

Angelica Panganiban did not hold back on her sentiments — even when it came to her own ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz. Padilla said she would be willing to befriend him.

“Sa ugali niya ngayon, kung nasan siya ngayon, totropahin,” she said.

(With his attitude now, where he is now, we can be friends.)

“Bakit, nasa’n siya ngayon? Nahanap na ba siya?” Panganiban asked.

(Why, where is he now? Has he been found?)

“Kung nahanap ka baka pwede magparamdam ka at magpaalam ka one last time,” she said in jest.

(If you have already been found, maybe you can reach out and say goodbye one last time.)

The “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes” star added, “Sa picture niya na ‘yan jojowain kaya lang ‘di ko talaga kayang jowain ‘yan eh.” She spoke these words while shown a photo of Cruz in a cellphone.

(Based on that picture I would be his girlfriend but I really cannot be in a relationship with him.)

Cruz confirmed his relationship with Panganiban in 2012 and announced their split in March 2016, months after they were rumored to have been broken up.
