Beauty Gonzalez recalled her start in showbiz with ABS-CBN while expressing her dismay over the rejection of the network’s application for a franchise renewal.

The actress recounted the beginning of her career after finding her first ABS-CBN ID, which she posted on her Instagram page last Saturday, July 18.

“As a feisty but secretly scared [16-year-old], I tried my luck in the big city,” Gonzalez said.“I stumbled and crawled, [I] kicked and cried, and amidst my heartaches and triumphs constantly by my side was my [K]apamilya, [ABS-CBN].”

The actress noted that it was not just her bosses but also the “whole team” who held her hand through the hardships she faced.

“Now almost 30, almost half my life, [I] look back at my imperfect career, [I] cry for my imperfect home network and feel immense sadness for my imperfect friends caught up in this madness,” Gonzalez expressed.

“I cry not for myself, for my family will remain strong! [I] cry not for you, because [I] know you will find a way,” she said. “I cry for US, because [I] know we will never be the same, never be whole and as one again.”

While Gonzalez is saddened over the shutdown of the media giant, she encouraged others to look on the bright side.

“Let us all hold our heads up high and remember that for at least that one shining moment in our time, we were all part of something that was good and true, imperfect, yet in the service of the [Filipino],” she said, quoting ABS-CBN’s slogan. “Stay strong, be proud.”

The actress entered showbiz when she joined the TV reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus” back in 2008. Following her time on the program, she went on to star in various teleseryes such as “Dream Dad” and “Ningning”. She recently starred in the TV drama series “Kadenang Ginto” opposite Dimples Romana.
