Deiveson Figueiredo will get a second chance to claim the UFC flyweight championship when he enters the octagon for a rematch with Joseph Benavidez at UFC Fight Night 172 on Saturday as a -225 betting favourite on the UFC odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Figueiredo was denied the UFC flyweight crown after missing weight ahead of his first meeting with Benavidez at UFC Fight Night 169, a second-round TKO victory that extended his current win streak to three fights going into Saturday night’s bout at UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

The 32-year-old Brazilian has claimed victory in seven of eight clashes since joining the UFC in 2017, with five of those wins coming inside the distance. And overall, Figueiredo has seen a fight go a full three rounds on just three occasions while compilling an impressive 18-1 professional MMA record.

Benavidez makes his fourth bid for the UFC flyweight title pegged as a +175 underdog at online betting sites. The 35-year-old American has produced mixed results in recent outings, with his loss to Figueiredo in late February as a -160 wager marking his second defeat in his past five outings. Benavidez has also come up short in his three previous battles for the title.

In addition to losing to Figueiredo, Benavidez also suffered a pair of losses to long-time champion Demetrious Johnson in 2012 and 2013. However, he has twice earned Performance of the Night bonuses over his past four outings, including a first-round TKO win over Alex Perez at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale.

Elsewhere on the UFC betting lines for Saturday, Kelvin Gastelum looks to snap a two-fight losing streak as he takes on fellow middleweight Jack Hermansson as a slim -120 favourite. Gastelum is coming off a heartbreaking split decision loss to Darren Till as heavy -225 chalk in his last outing at UFC 244, and has now claimed victory in just two of his past five fights.

Hermansson is also on the rebound as he looks to Saturday night’s fight as a -110 bet. The 32-year-old Swede suffered a second-round TKO loss to Jared Cannonier while sporting short -285 odds in their main event clash at UFC Fight Night 160. However, Hermansson has finished opponents in the first round in two of his past four outings, including an impressive submission win just 49 seconds into his matchup with David Branch at UFC on ESPN 2 that earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

In lightweight action, Marc Diakiese battles Rafael Fiziev as a -160 wager, while Ariane Lipski edges out Luana Carolina as a -125 favourite in their women’s flyweight matchup.
