MANILA, Philippines — ONE Championship on Tuesday announced its new partnership with Cignal TV and TV5.
Starting with ONE: No Surrender on Friday in Bangkok, Thailand, Cignal and TV5 will now broadcast the promotion’s events live.
“It is with great excitement that I announce a partnership with Cignal TV, the leading Pay TV provider in the Philippines, and TV5. TV5 is the nationwide leader in digital innovation,” Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and CEO of ONE Championship, said.
“Together, we will bring new content offerings to our fans, beginning with ONE: No Surrender, live from Bangkok.”
ONE’s move to a different network came on the heels of the controversial denial of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal by the House of Representatives nearly three weeks ago.
ABS-CBN had been airing ONE Championship events since 2016 and until the most recent flagship show held behind closed doors in Singapore last February.
Filipino-Kiwi Mark Abelardo will be fighting in the card against Fabricio Andrade, who is making his ONE debut.
The linkup with ONE comes just a day after the NBA also announced a multiyear deal with Cignal.
