MANILA, Philippines—Aung La N Sang, the holder of two World titles in ONE Championship, announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
The middleweight and light heavyweight champion posted on Instagram that he was tested on Monday and is now in quarantine at home for the next 14 days.
“I had a slight fever, congestion, body ache, and fatigue on the first two days,” wrote Aung La N Sang. “Besides that I am blessed that my whole family is doing well. We are really in this together and we will get over this.”
Fighters from both the UFC and ONE Championship including Derek Brunson, Gilbert Burns, Ismail Naurdiev, Eduard Folayang, Brandon Vera, and Joshua Pacio have all wished Aung La N Sang’s speedy recovery.
Aung La N Sang (26-10) last fought in 2019 when he defeated Vera to retain the light heavyweight title via second round technical knockout.
“Everyone at ONE Championship sends their best wishes to ‘The Burmese Python’ and his family, and we encourage everyone to wear a mask,” said ONE Championship in a statement.
